Psoriasis is a non-infectious and non-transmissible autoimmune skin condition that can be both baffling and persistent. Thick, silvery-white, scaly plaques appear on the skin due to the rapid and excessive proliferation of cells. Common areas of the body that are affected are the knees, elbows, scalp, legs, trunk, and nails. It can also be found on any part of the skin. The lesions are typically raised, silvery-white, red, and itchy. There are different types of psoriasis, but one of the most common is plaque psoriasis.
